New Generic Peptide Manufacturing Facility for PolyPeptide Group in India


The PolyPeptide Group inaugurated its brand new GMP facility for Peptide manufacturing on December 11th, 2009.

The Greenfield facility was inaugurated by the Group Chairman, Mr. Frederik Paulsen, in the presence of distinguished guests, representatives from all PPL sites and local political and government officials. This is the PPL Group’s first facility in Asia and India.
The facility is located on a 6 acre-site and has its own utility plant. The site is designed to accommodate three production buildings. The first building measuring approximately 3100m2 of manufacturing space and the corresponding utility building is now ready for production.


 
The inauguration function began with a ribbon cutting ceremony and unveiling of the plaque by Mr. Frederik Paulsen, followed by a champagne toast by Dr. Jane Salik, Group CEO, and lighting of the lamp according to Indian tradition. This was followed by small presentations by Mr. Frederik Paulsen, Dr. Salik, Dr. Vivek Khare, Director of Operations and Dr. Shreerang Joshi, Managing Director of PolyPeptide India. A site tour was arranged wherein the visitors went through the laboratories, production area and utility building. This was followed by a buffet lunch.

  

   

 

 

 

 

 


Before concluding the event, all guests were presented with a ‘Traditional Indian Memento’ which will allow them to always cherish the memories of the inauguration function.

In the evening, a special inauguration cocktail dinner was organized for the invited guests and dignitaries at Mumbai’s prestigious hotel, “The Leela”.
