PolyPeptide showcases leadership in sustainable peptide manufacturing with two landmark publications
The future of peptide manufacturing isn’t just about making more—it’s about making better.
Peptide therapeutics are transforming medicine, but traditional production can be resource-intensive. At PolyPeptide, we’re engineering platforms that deliver more while using less—combining breakthrough chemistry with environmental responsibility. These two peer-reviewed publications demonstrate our commitment to innovation where chemistry, process design, and sustainability converge.
1. A Sustainable Platform for ε-Lysine Branched GLP-1 Analogs
Published in Organic Process Research & Development (Org. Process Res. Dev. 2025, 29, 2989–2997), this work introduces a commercially viable and sustainable manufacturing platform for epsilon-lysine branched GLP-1 analogs—built for scale, sustainability, and efficiency.
The integrated SPPS platform combines:
- Green SPPS strategies
- Metal-free Alloc removal
- Waste minimization
- TFA/PFAS-free resin cleavage
This innovation sets a new benchmark for GLP-1 manufacturing and positions PolyPeptide to lead in this rapidly evolving space. The study is the result of a Vinnova-funded collaboration between PolyPeptide and RG Discovery—a partnership between two leading companies in the industrial peptide chemistry arena.

2. Integrating Aqueous SPPS, Green Disulfide Bond Formation and PFAS-Free Alternatives for Peptide Resin Cleavage
Our second publication in The Journal of Organic Chemistry (J. Org. Chem. 2025, 90, 15909–15915) highlights remarkable work accomplished in just a few months: the research was carried out by Thilda Qvist, an M.Sc. student during her thesis project at PolyPeptide in Malmö—an outstanding scientific achievement in her role as an undergraduate student.
The paper focuses on expanding the reach of aqueous SPPS using standard Fmoc amino acids, carrying out disulfide bond formations sustainably, and replacing TFA with PFAS-free alternatives for peptide resin cleavage.

The Common Thread: Innovation Meets Sustainability
Both publications share a unifying goal: eliminating TFA and PFAS from peptide manufacturing while maintaining quality and scale. Together, they underscore PolyPeptide’s leadership in advancing sustainable solutions for the most impactful peptide therapeutics—proving that environmental responsibility and commercial viability aren’t trade-offs.
